Waltzing Matilda's Goldie's Skitz

Skitz is doing great. He's growing fast. What a great dog! He's just a really nice, kind, dog with a great energy. Everyone that sees him is impressed. He's just about housebroken. He hasn't had any accidents this week and rings the bell to go outside about 50% of the time. He knows a few basic commands. We're just waiting to get his last shots to sign up for puppy training.

I can tell you spent a great deal of time caring for these dogs. He lets you touch him everywhere, is gentle with kids, isn't afraid of anything, and doesn't bark at other dogs, etc. He's naturally curious too. Again, a great dog.  Thank you very much.

Waltzing Matilda's Trusty Boomer

" Boomer is doing GREAT!  He sleeps 9 hours in his crate at night.  Walks wonderfully on his leash.  We took him across our frozen frog pond yesterday and he licked the ice all the way!  He goes everywhere with us.  I love when I'm laying on the floor and he snuggles up beside me and takes a nap.  Drake says he's a GREAT dog.  High praise from the guy who wasn't even sure he wanted to get Flicka four years ago!!"

Update 01/01/10 - Boomer is 90% housetrained!  At least 20lbs!  As big as Flicka now.  I'll weigh him tomorrow.  Long and leggy teenager.  Smart and sweet and learning not to put his mouth on everything.  He LOVES Flicka.  They play constantly.  Drake is trying to make him "his" dog!  Ha.  He runs around outside with us and Flicka off-leash no problem on our land.  He is a big, fluffy, mellow teddy bear still.  One of my favorite things is when he has something in his mouth he's proud of, he cocks his head back to one side toward his shoulder and wiggle, wiggles all proudly... so cute!!

Hi Michelle and Jamie,

Just a quick email from the Netherlands showing you guys proudly how our lovely labradoodle LANA is doing. From your Goldie and Tennison August 28th 2009 litter.

I believe that the attached pictures speak for themselves...

We live in the most Southern tip of the Netherlands where our country borders with Germany (2 miles from where we live) and with Belgium (10 miles from where we live).

I hold great memories of your great State of Maryland, as more than 30 years ago (1977) I stayed as an exchange student in White Plains, MD for some months, and went to Charles County Community College and had a wonderful time.

Anyway.. LANA is doing great and although she is my daugher Carlys's (12 years old) dog, the whole family loves her and she keeps us really busy...

All the best from the Netherlands and... wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

 Regards,

Waltzing Matilda's Sadie Soleil

Sadie is wonderful and too cute for her own good.  She is definitely a lover but also has more energy than I do.  She loves to play, preferring the noisy toys of course, or to nap on the couch using Mom or Dad as a pillow.  Sadie has recently discovered she is tall enough to see out the front window and spends much of her day checking out the neighborhood.  She spends so much time at the window she usually takes a toy with her and leaves it on the window sill.  She absolutely loved the snow!

Sadie sleeps through the night but must have an internal clock that wakes her up between 6:00 and 6:30 every day!  I guess it’s a good thing that’s when I wake up for work.  As of mid December Sadie is a mere 11lbs but is healthy as can be.  She is still working on potty training but is progressing well.  She has not spent a lot of time on a leash but is doing great socializing with her doggy cousins and friends and all the people she meets.  She loves attention and wants to please.  What a great dog!!

Waltzing Matilda's Heavenly Grace

Here are some quotes from our family about Gracie.  We really love her.  She is a huge joy to us...

  • Gracie is cute (Rebecka, age 7)

  • Gracie is a cutie-pie (Daniel, age 9)

  • Gracie is a good dog (Josiah, age 13)

I love cats, but had shown allergies to them, so the best bet for me has been to get a dog and one that was an allergy-free pet. The wonder about Gracie is that she is the perfect mix between the two for me.  She will allow you to carry her around like a cat or she'll sit in your lap.  Yet, she is smart and responsive relationally which is the positive qualities of a dog!

We have so enjoyed Gracie.  I took pictures of her on my phone but it does not appear that they are emailing properly.  Really cute.  She seems real happy and has her wonderful ways of showing love.  She is so compassionate when someone gets hurt!  We had a great socialization opportunity for her with 10 children in the house plus several adults yesterday and she did wonderful.  She often goes with me to pick up the children from school and hang out with children, adults and their dogs.  We have enjoyed many positive comments about how laid back she is (we love that too!) and yet fun at the drop of a hat!  Yey, Gracie!  Yey, God for giving her to us!! - including such a great situation with you guys!

Waltzing Matilda's Keen L'il Digger

We met Digger in November 2009 when we were notified that there was an opportunity to be a guardian home for him. We kept him for a few days to make sure our traditionally cats-only family would be able to adapt to a puppy. I quickly starting loving him and couldn't wait to have him with the family.

During the next few months, Michelle taught us (including hands on lessons) how to raise a puppy and start training him at home.  She also showed us grooming basics and the care and feeding of a healthy puppy.  We are extremely happy with him.  As a family, we are now a dog and cat family.  We are taking him to star puppy training soon, and look forward to many years of fun that Digger will provide our family.
